Onibagel releases Gwapumentry Ep.8

Onibagel’s work with Lowkey Gwap is unlike anything else, as most musicians aim for music videos with, these two want more than your average creative trendsetters. Lowkey Gwap is a Canadian musician with stylistic roots that stretch from the heart of Egypt to the vibrant culture of South Sudan. As his influences can be heard directly in his music, paired with a colourful documentary in an unforeseen way of live and behind the scenes footage, this truly captures the humanistic side of Lowkey Gwap.

Gwapumetry is the 3rd episode of the Onibagel archives, 8th for The Gwapumentry, as this representation shows the editorial perspective of videography along with the artist’s background.

Lowkey, along with some music video and show edits, has requested a docu-series of his up and coming fame which various videographers and artists. One being Onibagel, who has accepted to continue this project & to film and produce more in the future. Compared to just a music video, the whole collaboration provides a multitude of influence and analysis for both artists in different ways;

In-depth story telling: A unique inside story told perspective of Lowkey, something you do not get from many artists, or new artists in general. This can and could become a tool to follow for other artists who seek to document or record their rise to fame and growing audience.

Development: Along with his charming smile, the rise and change Lowkey has faced in order to get to where he is is showcased in a raw format, showing vulnerable points and happy moments that other artist’s could face.

Authenticity: Not many artist’s are willing to show a personal side of themselves. There are many reasons to hide or change your online presence into a desirable fake persona in comparison to your true self identity. This video style following Lowkey live, during, prior, and concluding events gives a varying angle of emotions in different settings which presence an authentic artist.

As there are many more things to point out with this series and video style being a special, beneficial and unique format. Even for artist looking back on their glory and work one day, or currently. There are also many different ways to showcase sides of artists that promote engagement.
